No More Plastic Water Bottles

15 Years, 355,000 Water Bottles Saved…and Counting

💧  At Vámonos, we believe that every small action can ripple into a big impact—especially when it comes to protecting our environment. That’s why, 15 years ago, we made a bold commitment: to ditch single-use plastic bottles on our student tours and replace them with reusable water bottles for every traveler.

The Result?

🌎  355,375 single-use plastic bottles avoided

♻️  11,440 pounds of plastic kept out of landfills and beaches

💧  Over 1,600 travelers per year staying hydrated the sustainable way

That’s more than 5 tons of plastic that never made it into our beautiful natural spaces.

Why It Matters in places like Puerto Rico

As an island, Puerto Rico is especially vulnerable to the effects of plastic waste. Our coastlines, marine ecosystems, and local wildlife suffer when plastic bottles pile up in beaches, rivers, and oceans.

By simply providing reusable water bottles, we’ve helped protect:

  • Coral reefs from plastic contamination
  • Sea turtles from mistaking bottles for jellyfish
  • Mangrove ecosystems from becoming trash traps
  • Local landfills from unnecessary waste

And the best part? Our students leave the island not only with memories but with new eco-friendly habits
