DAY 1: HOME/ MARTINIQUE TROIS-ILETS
Enjoy a driving tour of the capital on your way to the hotel to check in. Authentic welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 2: LES TROIS-ILETS / DIAMANT / SAINTE-ANNE
Stop at unforgettable Cap 110- Memorial de L’Anse Cafard and learn about the meaning behind the sculptures. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before embarking on a coastal hike through beautiful Savane des Pétrifications. Spend the rest of your afternoon relaxing at Salines Beach. After dinner participate in a Bélé Martinique dance workshop.
DAY 3: FORT-DE-FRANCE / GROS MORNE
Take the ferry to Fort de France where you will spend your morning on a walking tour of the capital, then visit the bibliotheque Schoelcher, and La Cathedral. Afterwards, engage in a digital scavenger hunt at a farmers’ market and sample some “accras de morue”. After lunch, participate in a service learning project at L’Esperance foster home then tour a local rural farm. Enjoy a homemade dinner at the home of a local family and interact with them while they teach you some creole as well.
DAY 4: LES TROIS-ILETS / FRANCOIS
Take a guided tour of Village de la Poterie craft workshop. Then enjoy a boat tour to Fonds Blancs – Baignoire Joséphine for a swim. Learn about “gommier”, an old boating tradition that is now a sport. Finish off your day with a farewell dinner in the home of some local residents where you will learn more about the regions of Martinique, neighborhoods, and community games. Optional game of “pétanque” with locals.
